Not easy, NOT easy...But i'll go for X-Men 3.
I saw both in the cinema but I was more excited about going to see X-Men 3 than Superman Returns.

NOt seen X3 yet, but I wasn't overly fussed with Supes. True, I'm not a Superman fan (He's just a glorified boy scout, to be honest) but the main problem I had was Routh and Bosworth... too young especially to have been "away" for five years.

There are problems with each movie - X3 wasn't as good as X2 (which would have been very hard), but it was a good movie. I liked Routh as Supes - he looks and acted like Reeve, which was superb! Age wise, he's close to the age Reeve was for Supes2, and with him being Superman, there's an "explanation" as to why he looked so young. As for Bosworth, I'm with Inno, she's just TOO d**n YOUNG! She was 23 when making Superman Returns (and looks it), so if you take off the 5 years, then she was 17 when Supes left, take time off for them getting to know each other, and her time at the Planet before that, then she was hired when she was about 11 to work her way up to be a head reporter. Not to mention the kid in the movie annoyed me - why did they have to do THAT?? Overall though, X3 was better than Supes Returns.

Gah, stop over analysing Superman Returns. its just a d**ned popcorn flick. Who cares if they were 17 in the last blah blah blah blah blah. Take it as what it was, just an entertaining film where you could switch off and escape.

I just hate films being over anylised when they shouldnt even start to be analysed. The Mummy films for example.....great popcorn flicks as long as you odnt look at them, closely.

I agree-films do tend to get over analyzed, especially re makes and sequels. People have expectations that are way too high with those, i think, sometimes...
